We did the work for you…

Choose from our curated lists for your caterer, coordinator, and dj, ensuring a seamless and stress-free event. Once booked, you will have access to our exclusive planning page with additional vendor lists, planning checklists, step-by-step instructions, style guides, and more!

WEDDING COORDINATION

Leaving the day-of management to a professional allows you and your loved ones to celebrate and enjoy each moment together. The planners and coordinators on our list are experienced with the venue layout, structuring each event efficiently, and managing guests and vendors.

Clients are able to choose their level of participation in wedding planning; Full Service, Partial Planning, or “Day-Of” Coordination. Unless you are on a tight schedule, or you really just don’t want to do the planning yourself, most of my clients choose to go with a “Day-Of” package. Coordinators step in about 1-2 months prior to your wedding.

CATERING

We are grateful to partner with caterers who have a commitment to excellence in food and beverage service. The caterers on our list specialize in creating unique menus that are specific to your taste and budget. There are three styles of catering that we typically see at Tin Roof Barn and depend entirely on your vision: plated, family style, or buffet.

Should you prefer to have a full-service caterer who is not on our list, we will require a non-refundable cleaning deposit and there are certain restrictions.  All caterers must provide full-service staffing and bartenders per our catering policy guidelines.

DJs & LIVE MUSIC

Your DJ will be your Master of Ceremonies, and works hand in hand with your coordinator to ensure the timing of your wedding goes according to plan.  To ensure your DJ has quality equipment, a knowledge of the wedding industry, and complete professionalism, we exclusively partner with the DJs on our list.

Live music is welcome during your ceremony and cocktail hour. You can choose your own live musicians - they do not have to be from our list. Due to our county’s rural noise restriction, we cannot accommodate live bands during the reception.

EVENT RENTALS

You’re welcome to choose any additional vendors to help facilitate your day.  For rentals and decor, please consider our sister-company, Magpie’s Nest Event Rentals.  Specializing in a vintage aesthetic, Magpie’s Nest offers unique table-top dining options, furniture, textiles, and lighting.

We have a number of recommendations for additional vendors, including transportation, lodging, after-parties, and more — available after booking.

Q &A with Kelly

  • Weddings are hosted on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, from May through October. We offer reduced rates for weekday micro weddings as well. The venue is also available for corporate and special events during the week.

We are booking 2022 and 2023. Please fill out our contact form for specific availability!

  • Our address is:

15 Birddog Rd., White Salmon, WA

The venue is 7 miles north of downtown White Salmon WA, a scenic one hour drive from Portand, Oregon. You’ll travel east along the Columbia River and north through the White Salmon River Valley towards Mt. Adams. We are located far enough away from Portland to be rural, but close enough to be easily accessible.

PDX, named one of the best airports in the US, is our closest airport.

  • It can be tricky to figure this out, so I recommend using a budget calculator to help give you an idea of overall costs once you start getting estimates from various local vendors.

To start out with, I have our clients choose from a list for their caterer, coordinator, and DJ. You can find this breakdown on our “Investment”page.

    I’d generally suggest a minimum of $30k for 50 guests, $40k for 100 guests, and $50k for 150 guests.

  • Tin Roof Barn is a seasonal venue and available for Friday, Saturday and Sunday events from May through October.

White Salmon is located just on the east side of the Cascade mountain range; it is the perfect mingling of the eastern Washington desert and the western Washington rain. Spring is bright and cheery with the occasional fresh shower of rain, while Summer is dry and warm, and Fall arrives slowly in colorful abundance with warm days and cool evenings.

  • Absolutely! However, Tin Roof Barn is privately owned and tours are given by appointment only.

Please visit our contact page to schedule an in-person or virtual tour.

I hope to see you soon, but ask you kindly not to visit without an appointment.

  • Your reservation at Tin Roof Barn includes:

    • 12 hours onsite (11 hours for the event including setup and breakdown, plus a 1-hour onsite rehearsal the day prior)

    • Tin Roof Barn ~ 3,400 sq feet of dining and entertainment space, including a catering room, furnished lounge areas, indoor/outdoor dance floor, built-in DJ booth, in-house sound system, custom chandeliers, dessert table, and wine & beer bar

    • The Ceremony Patio ~ The ceremony patio overlooks the mountains, orchards, and forest with a wisteria covered arbor. The aisle is flanked by two wine barrels and Adirondack seating areas.

    • The Pavilion ~ a timber framed structure with seating for 130. The pavilion features a massive outdoor fireplace, barn-wood bar, wine barrel bistro tables, and a large seating area as well as the same scenic views as the Ceremony Patio. In the event of inclement weather on your wedding day, the pavilion is available as a covered location for your ceremony. For the majority of celebrations, the pavilion is used for guests to gather during cocktail hour.

    • The Windmill Meadow ~ located adjacent to the barn, the meadow is set up with corn hole and horseshoes. Feel free to bring additional lawn games. The meadow is also a popular location for Golden Hour photos.

    • 180 upgraded white resin ceremony chairs.

    • Custom turned-leg farm tables for the reception.

    • Mismatch wood dining chairs for the reception.

    • Two private dressing quarters with sitting area, bathroom, and changing areas.

    • Plumbed reception restroom facility, just steps from the barn.

    • indoor and outdoor furnishings and lighting

    • Lighted parking lot for 90 vehicles. There is additional space for busses or other group transportation.

  • 12pm, earliest client arrival ~ 11pm, latest vendor departure.

Arrival for setup is at noon on the day of your wedding. The reception concludes at 10pm with final guest departure by 10:30pm. Vendors will complete breakdown and cleanup by 11pm.

  • I do require that clients choose from a list I provide for your coordinator, caterer, and DJ/musician. Professional vendors are key to ensuring your wedding day is a success! All other vendors are your choice.

  • You may choose from our list, or choose your own for an additional cleaning fee – in all cases, the caterer must be a licensed and insured business (no DIY or potluck dinners) and able to provide full-service staffing and bartenders until close.

  • We allow beer, wine, cider, and champagne at Tin Roof Barn. We also allow hard alcohol in the form of mixed “Signature Drinks” during cocktail hour (the time following your ceremony up until the reception). Your caterer will provide bartenders for alcohol service.

  • Glad you asked! In general, the timing is typically set up like this but can be customized to suit your needs:

    12pm Arrive at the venue

1:30pm First Look & family photos

    3pm Earliest guest arrival

    4pm Showtime! (ceremony begins)

    4:45 Cocktail hour

    6pm Dinner is served

    7:30p Dance floor opens

    10pm Reception concludes

    10:30pm Latest guest departure

11pm Vendors depart and venue closes

  • Yes! While our venue is technically a pet-free zone, we do allow our couples to include their favorite four-footer during their ceremony and cocktail hour, but for your pet’s well being and safety they must be removed from the venue once the reception begins.

  • We do have restrictions that are in place to ensure the venue stays in pristine condition for every couple who wants to remember their day as absolute perfection. Our two big decor restrictions would be that flames are not allowed - but flameless candles are welcome - and we do not allow flowers to be thrown during the ceremony or grand exit.

  • Yes - our county has rural sound restrictions in place to ensure everyone can enjoy the serene nature of this beautiful area.

The barn has been updated with an in-house speaker system which your DJ will use for reception and dance music. Due to this restriction we cannot allow live bands during the reception. We do allow live music for the ceremony and cocktail hour.

  • We want to make sure all your guests can experience the magic of Tin Roof Barn; the entire venue is certified accessible with the exception of the Dressing Quarters.

  • We do not have lodging onsite, but there are multiple B&Bs, cabins, campgrounds and vacation rentals close-by. Most couples choose to stage their guests 15 minutes from Tin Roof Barn in Hood River, where there are various lodging choices that can cater to more varied budgets. There is an abundance of restaurants, wineries, breweries, shopping, and outdoor entertainment to last throughout the weekend.

  • Absolutely not! We focus on you and want you to have the most amazing day of your life so there is only one event allowed per day.

  • Yes, we do. We can accommodate up to 90 vehicles in our lighted field parking area. We do strongly recommend group transportation to keep potentially tipsy drivers from getting behind the wheel.

  • If you’ve been in the PNW long, you know that it’s always a good idea to have a backup weather plan!

We built the timber-framed pavilion in 2016 to be the alternate ceremony location, should there be rain in the forecast, or if it is just too hot to be in the direct sun. If not used for your ceremony, you can use this space during cocktail hour where guests can enjoy beverages, appetizers, and mingle in front of the pavilion’s massive stone fireplace and enjoy the scenic views.

  • Anyone who lives here knows we live in paradise! Here’s a list of my favorite things to do:

    • Let your inner kid loose (or your real ones) at Mt Hood Adventure Park at SkiBowl

    • Catch a movie, some gourmet pizza, and a beer at Andrews Pizza & Skylight Theater

    • Relax and enjoy your time in the most beautiful area in the world
