At Tin Roof Barn, we specialize in creating an unforgettable experience for both you and your guests. Our beautiful Gorge wedding venue includes many amenities you won’t find at any other wedding venue…
The barn reception area includes our graceful vintage wood dining tables and mismatched vintage chairs, antique rugs, an indoor/outdoor dance floor, built-in DJ booth, in-house sound system, a massive Head Table, a buffet table, a dessert table, built-in bar with a wine barrel backdrop and customizable chalkboard, rustic chandeliers and string fairy lighting, vintage furnishings and decor.
For your ceremony, we provide 150 upgraded white resin chairs in our ceremony patio as well as our covered ceremony location, the Pavilion, because, at a Gorge wedding it’s good to have a Plan B, just in case! Our timber-framed pavilion is an optional covered ceremony location and if not needed for your vows, it can be used for an incredible cocktail hour location. Included is a massive stone fireplace, an outdoor bar, a stationary appetizer table, wine barrel cocktail tables, a mini-photo booth frame, and best of all – incredible scenery from all sides.
Our modern (plumbed!) restroom facility, the beautifully appointed Bridal Suite and Groom’s Room, outdoor entertaining area with lawn games, beverage table, fire pit, Adirondack seating, and lush vegetation are all part of the indoor/outdoor Gorge wedding experience at Tin Roof Barn. Scenic views of the mountains, forests, orchards, and valleys of the Columbia River Gorge are the background to this stunning venue and will leave your guests celebrating late into the evening.
Planning & Coordination
Union Event Co, our exclusive planning and coordination team, is a required vendor for all weddings at Tin Roof Barn. Once booked, you will receive invaluable information for planning your wedding including login to Aisle Planner, planning checklists, vendor suggestions, and even discounts for certain online companies for invitations and other wedding day goods. They will pick up the planning and coordination where you left off, 2 months prior to your wedding so that you can just sit back and enjoy your last few months of being engaged.
Union Event Co will lead you through a final details meeting as well as an onsite venue walkthrough. They will also coordinate your onsite rehearsal and oversee all details on your wedding day including logistics, timing, setup, décor, and cleanup.
Union Event Co’s “Wedding Day Management” is a separate fee and pricing starts at $1800 (not bad for 2 months of work plus all the other perks they include!)
We welcome additional planners or coordinators, should you already be invested or have one in mind, but working with Union Event Co is absolutely mandatory to ensure your wedding at TRB goes as smoothly as a 4-tier fondant frosted wedding cake. Our Preferred Caterers
Tin Roof Barn selectively partners with outstanding catering companies to provide a delicious, full service, and all-smiles experience.
Tired of going to weddings that serve dried out chicken and rubbery pasta? Not on our watch!! Each caterer on our list is a small business, deeply devoted to providing farm-to-table fresh food that is impeccably presented and service that is professionally staffed from the moment they arrive at the venue until you are headed out to your after party.
Should you wish to have a full-service caterer who is not on our list, there is an additional fee for the time it takes us to ensure contract compliance and familiarization with our venue. We cannot guarantee we will be able to work with your chosen caterer, but we will give it our best shot to make sure they are a good fit.
Why We Require Full Service Catering
We curate our Preferred Caterer list to ensure you and your guests have the best experience possible on your wedding day, which is not something we can guarantee by letting just anyone come to our estate and “cater.” All caterers must go through a mandatory venue walkthrough, receive a yearly update on venue policies, and be familiar with the Union Event Co timeline for Tin Roof Barn weddings. Our Preferred Caterers have already been through these requirements making a booking with them easy for you. Full-service caterers are required to staff according to the total number of guests, complete the entire food and beverage cleanup, and stay onsite til 10:30pm.
Did you know that many caterers, unless required to do so, will depart after the dinner service leaving you to clean up the desserts, the bar, the tables, the leftovers, etc? Cleaning up is not the way you want to end your fabulous celebration, so we have created guidelines for our caterers that ensure you will do nothing but celebrate with your guests throughout the entire evening.
Although each caterer has the ability to refine the dinner selection to your specific budget, we recommend using an average cost of $50 per person when determining a rough estimate for catering. Your price may be over or under, depending on style, budget, and selection, but this is a realistic number for starting your initial calculations.
Bar & Beverage
For those who choose to serve alcohol, we require that you utilize your catering company’s professional bartenders. Bartenders are required to be onsite anytime alcohol is being served and similar to the caterers, they will complete the bar cleanup as well.
At Tin Roof Barn, we do not allow a full bar; however, we do allow wine, beer, and champagne all night! We also allow your choice of two Signature Drinks containing hard alcohol during cocktail hour (“cocktail hour” is a loose term for the period of time following the ceremony and before dinner when you’re out taking pictures, signing your marriage license, and mingling with your guests). Once the reception begins, the Signature Drink service ends.
Your wedding at Tin Roof Barn is a private event on private property, so you will need to provide the venue with a WA State Banquet Permit ($11), which allows you to legally serve alcohol to your guests. Cash bars are not allowed. We do not charge a corkage fee, nor do we oversee where you provision your alcohol. As the responsible party and holder of the Banquet Permit, you are allowed to BYOB.
DJs & Live Music
A professional DJ from our Preferred List is required to be able to utilize our in-house sound system and to ensure you enjoy a seamless ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. Use of our sound system in the barn is mandatory for reception and dance music. Your DJ will need to provide speakers for your ceremony and cocktail hour, as well as microphones for use during the ceremony and reception. Though DJs have a wide variety of offerings, you can expect to pay a minimum of $900 to ensure your ceremony and reception goes smoothly.
We allow live music and bands during your ceremony and cocktail hour or up until 6pm.
You will be required to purchase WedSafe event insurance for minimum liability coverage of one million dollars ($185). WedSafe includes an alcohol clause so that in case anything should happen during your wedding, you will be financially covered. They also offer cancelation insurance, which while we hope is never needed, is wonderful to have in case something comes up and you need to cancel with your vendors.
